Gas lamp shade
Blue glass gas lamp shade with brass bracket. Used to decorate London's streets during Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee celebrations. The evening illuminations were one of the great sights of the Jubilee celebrations. All offices, shops, banks and businesses in central London competed to illuminate their buildings in the most spectacular way, often using thousands of coloured oil or gas lamps, such as these.
