Photography — 1977-09
Negative, acetate
This derelict corner shop stands on the corner of Brick Lane and Quaker Street. Margaret MacDonald, an art teacher who pursued photography, became interested in Spitalfields. These photographs focus mostly on street scenes that record the neighbourhood’s local businesses and diverse community. Macdonald staged an exhibition of 'Hackney Houses' and Spitalfields architecture in 1971 and 1974 and collaborated in an exhibition about Spitalfields in 1979.
