A view (towards the south-east?) of (on the right) the curved wall round the Waterhouse at New River Head, with a pedimented doorway set in it and, around and below it, a wide stretch of water (reservoir or New River?) with a fence reaching down to it in the left foreground. In the middle distance are three substantial houses of which the one on the right appears also in 34.257/454c and 34.257/454f. W. Hollar delin: et sculp: 1665, in bottom left. These were bought by A.D. Power at Sotheby's June 1932, from Philip Norman's collection, who write "Hollar Etching from the Rookery Sale, the series of New River Head - of interest. Same as 29.54/1. Power box 34, sheet 41.
