Scarf, commemorative scarf
Rayon scarf commemorating the Festival of Britain. The design combines the new buildings erected for the Festival on the South Bank (including the Royal Festival Hall and the Dome of Discovery) with London’s existing iconic buildings (including St. Paul's Cathedral, Big Ben and the Tower of London). The scarf is titled 'Festival of Britain’ in a typeface that matches the Festival’s approved lettering.
The scarf is made of plain weave thick crepe rayon fabric, and the design is screenprinted in black, red, green, yellow and pink on a mainly grey background. Some colours have run in washing, especially red and blue. It is hemmed by machine.
