A salesmen displaying watches at Petticoat Lane market
Henry Grant took several photographs of Petticoat Lane's famous street market during his career. In this image, a salesman is displaying a number of watches to interested passers-by. Several people, mainly men, have gathered to look at the products for sale. The salesman, dressed in a suit, wears a glove to carefully handle the items in front of the prospective buyers.
The market, situated on Middlesex Street and Wentworth Street, attracted a great number of visitors in search of second-hand goods and collectables.
