Printed Ephemera — 1993
Bag, paper bag
This paper bag dates from 1993, and is printed in the colours of the Italian flag. It advertises Camisa & Son, a delicatessen in Old Compton Street. They promoted themselves as 'Wines and Continental Provision Merchants', and 'Makers of the best Meat Ravioli, Lasagne & Fresh Pasta, all varieties of Continental Cheeses and Coffee'. The shop opened in 1930, at which time there were around a thousand Italian-run businesses in London, mostly retail and catering.
