"Sir William Waller Knight Sergeant Maior Generall of ye Parliaments Army, & one of the Members, of ye Hono'ble House of Commons, 1643". Waller c1598- 1668) was the leading Parliamentary commander in southern England during the first three years of the Civil War, later a political leader of the Presbyterian faction in the House of Commons - see www.british-civil-wars.co.uk/biog/waller.htm Mounted alongside 2004.158/58, which is in the same style and apparently from the same producer.
