Crucible
Small pottery dish, partially glazed in yellow/brown. Made by the Morgan Crucible Company, Battersea, and stamped 'BATTERSEA WORKS ENGLAND 2 1/4'. Used in assaying metals, this type of crucible was widely exported in the later 19th century for use in mints and mining areas.
