Coll. Corbet. Regicide. Executed at Tyburn 1662
Miles Corbet, Puritan, Regicide, 1595-1662. Son of a knightly Norfolk family and MP for Yarmouth. Corbet played a leading role in organising the formidable Eastern Association army. After sitting as one of the King's judges and signing the death warrant, Corbet served enthusiastically on Parliament's Committee for Ejecting Scandalous Ministers. He bought lands in Ireland after Cromwell's subjugation. At the Restoration, Corbet fled to the Netherlands but he was extradited by George Downing. He was hanged, drawn and quartered along with John Barkstead and John Okey in April 1662. See http://www.british-civil-wars.co.uk/biog/index_c.htm#corbet
