T-shirt

A black fine cotton jersey t-shirt, sleeveless with a scooped neckline. Made from two panels, joined at the side seams. The armholes and neckline are edged in black cotton webbing with the hemline left raw. One very long piece of black webbing is secured by stitching on each of the shoulders, a long piece falls from each shoulder and the front long piece falls in a long loop which is stitched together around the centre front neckline.

Preen is the label of Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi. It was established in 1996 after the designers worked together for Helen Storey. Working initially out of a small boutique and atelier in Portobello road, the business grew with acclaim for their 'anti-fit elegance' achieved through innovative cutting and an experimental approach to details and drape. Their urban colour palette also marks out Preen's modernist aesthetic. Preen debuted at London Fashion Week in 2001 and was nominated for Designer of the year in 2006.

The outfit was bought at Concrete boutique in Soho, now shut, owned by a public relations company of the same name.
