Printed Ephemera — 1840-1865
Playbill
Double column playbill announcing a programme of entertainments taking place at the Theatre Royal, Marylebone. Includes performances of Belphegore, Claude Duval and a revival of the popular nautical drama 'Black Eyed Susan'. The playbill is undated, but the programme refers to the theatre as licenced to William Wallack, who ran the theatre from 1852-1857. The playbill refers to 'Saturday, May 5th' and this date fell on a Saturday in 1855 so the playbill is likely to date from that year.
