Cables, telegraph cables
This presentation box contains sections of telegraph cable supplied to the West India and Panama Telegraph Company. A total of around 4100 nautical miles were supplied, for a total of 20 different links - the biggest single cable order at the time. This was also the first major submarine cable to be manufactured at the Silvertown works of the India Rubber, Gutta-Percha and Telegraph Works Company.
