Working History — 1856-1860
Telegraph, ABC telegraph
This telegraph was an early example of an ABC or Alphabetic telegraph. It was patented by the engineering firm W.T. Henly in 1856. For the first time it integrated the transmitter and the receiver dials onto the same piece of equipment. Henly were one of the earliest companies to produce telegraph machines but they never specialised in this area of manufacturing.
