Hat
Woman's hat with attached snood made of brown felt and brown nylon, trimmed with mink. The hat is unlined but finished on the inside with a narrow brown petersham ribbon. The left side of the brim and crown are decorated with a broad band of pleated nylon. The snood, which is shaped and gathered with shirring where it is attached to the hat, has elastic threaded throught the hem.
Turbans or headdresses with snoods were popular during the war as they could disguise a less than perfect hairstyle. Not all were trimmed with mink!
