An Upper Palaeolithic - early Mesoliithic Reindeer (Rangifer tarandus) metatarsal dating 10,000 to 9,500BCE.. It was excavated from an Upper Palaeolithic to early Mesolithic hunter gatherer campsite, there was evidence of extensive flint working and processing of hunted animals. Reindeer were the most commonly occurring animal bone recovered on site dating to the Upper Palaeolithic. Reindeer were an important prey animal.
