Printed Ephemera — 1874
Menu
A printed menu card for a meal held at the Guildhall on November 9 1874. The menu is printed in red, green and gold on cream card with elaborate border decoration incorporating symbolds and crests associated with the City, including the crest and motto of the Guildhall at the centre bottom of the card.
Included in the seven course menu was a first course of 'Turtle Soup', a main of 'Barons of Beef' and a variety of sweets such as 'Cremes Francaises a la Royale' and 'Mince Pies'.
