Buy London Housing bonds this week Money builds talk hinders
Following the Housing Act of 1919, the London County Council (L.C.C.) introduced housing bonds. The public were encouraged to buy the bonds to raise money for the building of new public housing.
To promote the scheme, the L.C.C. launched a publicity campaign. It wanted to show the benefits of its housing plans and those of other metropolitan boroughs. Londoners raised just under four million pounds by buying the bonds.
This poster shows an image of the Wormholt Park housing estate in the borough of Hammersmith.
