Pistol, travelling pistol
This flintlock travelling pistol was made by Joseph Stace, a gunsmith with a workshop in the Minories near the Tower of London. Like many gunmakers working in this area, Stace was a contractor to the Board of Ordnance which supplied weapons to the British armed forces. He also manufactured guns for the Hudson Bay Company. Stace served as Master of the London Gunmakers' Company in 1675.
