The Life, Trial and Execution of Rush, for the Murder of Mr Jermy and his Son
Sixteen page pamphlet recounting the life, trial and execution of James Blomfield Rush convicted of the fatal shooting of his landlord Isaac Jermy and his son also called Isaac and of injuring Mrs Jermy and the maid at Stanfield Hall, Norfolk, England, on 28 November 1848. The pamphlet is divided into chapters covering Rush's life, the murders, the trial and the public execution that took place in Norwich on April 21st 1849 watched by a crowd of 20,000. Known as the ‘Killer in the Fog’ Rush was regarded as one of the most notorious murderers of the 19th century.
