Litterus Et Artibus
Gold Litterus Et Artibus medal presented to Anna Pavlova by the king of Sweden at the time, Gustav V. The medal is an award established in 1853 by Charles XV and recognises the highest levels of artistic acheivement, especially in the fields of music, dramatic art and literature.
On a blue grosgrain ribbon in a satin lined box. Obverse: Profile head of King Gustav V, Inscrption 'GUSTAVUS V REX SVECIAE' and the artist's name A Lindberg in smaller letters. Revere: A stylised laurel wrathe with the words ' LITTERIS ET ARTIBUS' in the centre. Medal surmounted by a crown.
