The 'Jiji Shimpo' Medal
Medal presented to Anna Pavlova in Japan. Gold and polychrome enamel medal suspended from a gold brooch. The medal is inscribed on the obverse: 'THE JIJI SHIMPO' and on the reverse, 'Mme. Anna Pavlova/ The 'Jiji Shimpo' Medal/ Founded to do Honour/to/ the Distinguished/ in all Arts. The medal survives with its original presentation case made of wood inscribed in gold on the lid, 'Presented to/ Mme. Anna Pavlova/ by/ The 'Jiji Shimpo',/ Tokyo. Ivory coloured silk cords finished with tassels attached to the base of the box tie to secure the lid.
