Mirror fragment, frame
Fragment of mirror in wooden frame. Removed as a souvenir from 18 St James's Square after the explosion of a dynamite bomb planted by the Fenians on May 30th 1884.
The Irish Republican bomb that exploded at St James’s Square damaged buildings but did not cause loss of life. The 1880s Republican campaign in London ended in 1887 when a plot to assassinate the Queen at her Jubilee celebrations resulted in the arrest of two Irish-Americans.
