Social History — C. 1981
Badge, lapel badge
This badge features the slogan 'No More Hiroshimas', a reference to the atomic bomb dropped by the United States Army Air Force on the Japanese city in 1945. British peace organisations like the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) developed links with their Japanese counterparts and the city of Hiroshima became a focus for international campaigning for the abolition of nuclear weapons. The badge also bears CND's famous 'ban the bomb' logo which has become a symbol of the international peace movement.
