Royal Festival Hall, Dedication and Opening
Admission ticket for the dedication and opening of the Royal Festival Hall, 3 May 1951, for the Festival of Britain. The first concert was held that evening in the presence of the King and Queen. The Festival Hall was the first public building to be built in Britain since the war. It was a London County Council (LCC) project, designed by LCC architects in a bold modern style.
