Coin, denarius
A copper alloy dupondius coin of Emperor Trajan, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 98-117. The back of the coin depicts Felicitas, the female personification of prosperity. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 115-116.
Obv: Draped and radiate bust of Trajan, facing right. Obv inscription: IMP TRAIANO AVG GER DAC PM TR P COS V PP. Rev: Felicitas, standing left, holding a caduceus (a winged staff held by messengers and heralds) in her right hand and a cornucopia in the left. Rev inscription: SPQR OPTIMO PRINCIPI.
