Golders Green Crematorium
This sixteen page brochure is a guide to Golders Green Crematorium, its services and facilities. The crematorium, founded in 1902 by Sir Henry Thompson who had been a surgeon to Queen Victoria, was the first to open in London. The brochure claims that the crematorium is the 'world's most prestigious'. Specific facilities of the crematorium include 'The Columbaria' where cremated remains can be placed in niches and a 'Shrine of Remembrance', which houses, for those of the Jewish faith, the 'Scroll of Remembrance that records the names of loved ones on any day which has a special meaning'.
