Card, valentine card

Comic valentine's card printed as a woodcut on cheap paper with a caricature of a man carrying a staff, accompanied by a dog. At the top is the caption, 'To a Drover.' The print is crudely coloured and below is printed a verse, 'Oh! who could think of love, and thee, Go herd your filthy cattle! And leave to cleaner--milder brutes, Love's joys and gentle prattle. When next you try to woo a maid, Pray like a Bull don't bellow: Dick, always recollect your are A Drover--ugly Fellow.' One of a collection of sample comic valentines bound in a single volume, stored within a wooden case. On the spine of the case is a label 'Comic'.
