Card, valentine card

Comic valentine's card printed as a woodcut on cheap paper with a caricature of a man with a monkey's head, riding a goose. The print is crudely coloured and below is printed a cruel verse 'Good Billy Button, pray don't believe, You for a husband I'll receive, Contented be I never can, With the Ninth part of a man, You must be drunk or mad to thus opine, A woman would give up eight parts in nine, To love a botcher I shall ne'er incline, Nor take a stitch-louse for my Valentine.' One of a collection of sample comic valentine's bound in a single volume, stored within a wooden case. On the spine of the case is a label 'Comic'.
