Card, valentine card

Multi-layered, handfinished valentine's card comprising an undersheet of cream lace paper embossed with a floral border decoration surrounding a central panel. Applied to the panel is an oval sheet of yellow tissue paper decorated with embossed white and silver figures of a couple surrounded by foliage and framed by a silver and white paper border. Attached above, by paper hinges is a silver and white embossed lace paper floral border with an applied wreath of lilac paper leaves and cream satin ribbon studded with red tinsel stars. The card also has an applied satin urn base and a paper cartouche printed with a gilded verse. One of a collection of cards stored within a scrapbook compiled by Jonathan King numbered 'Volume 1166'.
