Card, valentine card
Handfinished valentine's card comprising a silver and white lace paper border with an oval open centre. On each of the four corners is applied an arrangement of cream satin pressed leaves and a white cotton flower. Through the open centre of the border can be seen decoration applied to the inner or back sheet below. This comprises an oval shaped cream satin pad embroidered with a pink rose and associated petals. The pad is framed by an inner wreath of brown feathers, green embossed paper leaves and blue embossed paper flowers, with an outer wreath of white and silver embossed papersleaves and cream cotton gauze leaves. One of a collection of cards stored within a scrapbook compiled by Jonathan King numbered 'Volume 1166'.
