Card, valentine card
Multi-layered, handfinished valentine's card comprising two white lace paper sheets attached one above the other by paper springs. The under sheet comprises a lace paper border embossed with a foliage, tree and flower design surrounding a central cream satin panel. Applied to the panel is a bouquet of cotton fabric flowers, buds and leaves. The top sheet comprises a white lace paper border embossed with a design incorporating handcoloured flowers, vases, birds and two reclining classical male and female figures surrounding an open area through which can be seen the satin below. Also applied is a paper cartouche printed with a love verse.
