Card, valentine card

Multi-layered, handfinished valentine's card comprising a white under sheet with a narrow solid embossed border surrounding a central area handpainted with a landscape scene. Applied at the bottom of this image is a garland of embossed coloured paper leaves and flowers. The top sheet, attached by means of paper springs comprises a gilded and white lace paper border embossed with a tree and foliage design surrounding a central panel of cotton net through which can be seen the landscape below. Applied above the cotton net is an embossed, handcoloured image of two children playing on a garden gate. The landscape below acts as background for the image.
