Card, valentine card
Handfinished valentine's card comprising a sheet of white lace paper heavily embossed with a border design incorporating two large figures of a male and female, reclining at the bottom of the sheet, in a rural, garden setting. Applied to the central area of the card is a handcoloured image of cupid painting on an easel, the image is framed by an embossed white lace paper archway with classical pillars. The card is also decorated with two applied garlands of embossed coloured paper leaves and flowers. One of a collection of cards stuck within a scrapbook compiled by J.King numbered '37'. This card is applied to 'page 19' of the scrapbook headed '1/- 8 to white raised valentines No 20'.
