Card, valentine card
Handfinished valentine's card comprising a top sheet of gilded and white lace paper embossed with a border design of a garden scene incorporating trees, a gazebo and two classically dressed figures embracing. The open central area is filled with an applied panel of cotton gauze through which can be seen decoration applied to the inner sheet below. This decoration comprises a sheet of silver and white lace paper by Windsor heavily embossed with a central image of an urn with a base formed from cupid figures. Above the urn is applied a rice paper roundel handpainted with a lake and mountains framed by an embossed floral wreath.
