Card, valentine card
Handfinished valentine's card comprising a sheet of silver and white embossed lace paper cut to represent a garden scene with foliage and two gazebos flanking a centrally applied cream satin roundel handpainted with a yellow flower. Above the roundel is a cameo embossed image of two angels flying on a cloud. Beneath the sheet is inserted a plain, light green sheet intended to enhance the lace paper design above. The lace sheet is also stamped with a registration diamond mark dated 1856. One of a collection of cards stuck within a scrapbook compiled by J.King numbered '37'.
