Card, valentine card
Handfinished valentine's card comprising a top sheet of silver and white lace paper the lower part heavily embossed with an image of a country cottage and a couple walking in a field. At the top of the sheet is a cartouche with an embossed and lace paper image of a church. The embossed lace paper sheet surrounds a central oval panel of applied white satin. Above the panel is applied a gilded embossed paper canopy and a cut out embossed paper figure with handcoloured clothes and features. Also applied to the panel a garland of two lilac, embossed paper leaves and a central paper flower. The inner or back sheet has an applied paper scroll printed with a love verse.
