Card, valentine card
Multi-layered, handfinished valentine's card comprising two sheets of identical white lace paper attached one above the other by folded paper springs or hinges. The lace paper sheets are heavily embossed with a design incorporating urns, swans, statues and foliage surrounding a central area. This area of the top sheet is open, revealing below a cotton net panel decorated with an applied embossed coloured paper bouquet of three pink flowers and green foliage tied with a gilded bow. One of a collection of cards stuck within a scrapbook compiled by J.King numbered '37'.
