Card, valentine card
Handfinished valentine's card comprising a white lace paper top sheet heavily embossed with a design incorporating cherub figures and classical urns. A central roundel is handpainted with a strawberry surrounded by leaves. Above is applied a paper scroll printed with a love verse. Below this sheet is applied a red, plain sheet inserted to enhance the lace paper design above. The card is incomplete as there is no back or inner sheet. One of a collection of cards stuck within a scrapbook compiled by J.King numbered '37'. This card is applied to a page headed 'Queens Lace Hand Painted Valentines No.3'.
