Mr Balmer as Richard the Lion Heart
Handcoloured theatrical souvenir plate engraved with a portrait of Mr Balmer on horseback as Richard the Lion Heart. The portrait is embellished with metal foil and tinsel ornaments, notably on the dress accessories, armour, weapons and horseblanket. The clothing and horseblanket are of shaded silk, cotton and cotton velvet. The portrait has been cut from a paper sheet and mounded on card handcoloured with background scenery and marked 'Coloured and sold Wholesale and retail by J.Redington at his Theatrical Print, Play and Tinsel Warehouse 208 Hoxton Old Town and Jonathan King 45 Chapel St., Somers Town'.
