Tinsel print
Handcoloured theatrical souvenir plate engraved with a portrait of the actor Mr N.T. Hicks in the role of the Lion King. The portrait, which shows the actor slaying the lion, is embellished with metal foil tinsel ornaments, notably on the dress accessories, armour and sword. The clothing is of shaded silk. The portrait and the lion have been cut from a paper sheet and mounted onto card handcoloured with background scenery.
