(a) A ground plan of the Magdalen Hospital in St Georges Fields (b) the east elevation to the road leading to Black Fryars Bridge. In this place is ground belonging to thje Charity to enlarge the building when the Governors shall be enabled. St George's Fields was a large open space a little south of Blackfriars Bridge and NW of Newington Butts. The hospital was rebuilt (just north of St George's Circus) before it left the area in the 1870s and moved to Tooting. District: Southwark. Joel Johnson credited as the architect.
