Arms in front of an Old Building, Golden Lane. A pencil note by ?Honeybourne on the reverse of the work reads: "The King's Arms is supposed to be the sign of a tavern for those frequenting the Fortune Theatre which it is said stood between Whitecross Street and Golden Lane. The house is also said to have been the private dwelling of Edward Alleyn who built the theatre in 1622 or even the theatre itself." District: City: Aldersgate.
