The Seat of Mrs. Garrick, at Hampton in Middlesex
The Seat of Mrs. Garrick, at Hampton in Middlesex. Now known as Garrick's Villa, this house beside the river (seen here with commercial traffic going by) was David Garrick's home from 1754 till his death in 1779. Thereafter Eva, his widow, lived here as a recluse until her death in 1822. It has now been converted into apartments and the grounds have been developed.
