Clarence House, Bushy Park, Middlesex. "The seat of His Royal Highness The Duke of Clarence." - This is actually Bushy House, later the home of the National Physical Laboratory. "William, the third son of King George III, was made Duke of Clarence in 1789. In 1797, he was appointed Keeper (or Ranger) of Bushy Park and he moved into Bushy House with his mistress, the Irish comedy actress, Mrs Dorothea Jordan (also known as Dorothy or Dora), and their three children.
