Paintings, Prints & Drawings — 1780-1800
Greenwich Hospital
Greenwich Hospital. From an Original Drawing by Holland. There are several Hollands: this may be Peter Holland, 1757-1812. The hospital is shown from the Thames, with boats and sails drawn up outside the railing in front of the hospital itself. Though there is a quayside, it does not seem to be the embankment visible in Pugin's drawing of Nelson's funeral passing the Hospital - or indeed in 80.501/833 of 1799 - hence a date some time prior to 1800 is likely.
