The London Workhouse, Bishopsgate Street
Text reads: West Front or principal entrance of the London Workhouse, Bishopsgate Street. Two images, the upper and larger shows front elevation of 4-storey building with two niches, containing figures of a man and a woman, each holding a scroll. The smaller lower image shows same building 'with the stewards side, or internal part of the same structure'. On either side of lower image are representations of either side of a seal. The left image shows the coat of arms of the Corporation for the Poor of London. The image on the right shows another coat of arms and reads: 'God gives peace to innocence and plenty to industry'.
