The Rye House, Herts.
The Rye House, Herts. For Dr Hughson's Description of London. Rye House, a 15th-century fortified baronial hall and farm, was in the middle of the marshes near the river Lee at Hoddesdon in Hertfordshire. It was the location for the Rye House Plot against Charles II in 1683.
