St Barnabas Chapel, St Luke, Old Street.
St Barnabas Chapel, St Luke, Old Street. St Barnabas Church, King Square was at first a chapel of ease for St Luke's, Old Street, but became a parish in its own right in 1842. Since parish mergers in 1952 it has been known as St Clement with St Barnabas and St Matthew.
At the right children wheel a model boat on a trolley. These were made by discharged sailors and exhibited in the streets (sometimes by their children) to solicit alms. There is another example in the Rhinebeck Panorama (98.57) to the right of the Tower of London.
