[Engravings of tombs in St Paul's Cathedral]
Engravings of tombs in St Paul's Cathedral - proof copies without the inscriptions on the monuments: the tombs of Cuthbert, Lord Collingwood by Westmacott and Admiral Howe by Flaxman. Collingwood (1748-1810) was Horatio Nelson's second in command at the Battle of Trafalgar and held the Mediterranean command thereafter. Admiral Earl Richard Howe (1726-99) was a naval commander who became First Lord of the Admiralty in Pitt's first ministry, and was a key figure in quelling the Spithead Mutiny in 1797.
