Statues and a basrelief on the south side of the Chantry over the monumental Chapel of Henry V in Westminster Abbey [ms. title on mount]. In two pieces - keyed panels 1-9 separate from slightly larger scale panel 10 of the bas relief.
Nine panels show statues - no. 6 is blank ('lost') and no. 9 headless. The separate tenth panel shows three figures - one a king enthroned holding an orb, with two flanking priests. John Carter (1748-1817) was a sculptor and builder who later became a draughtsman, working often for the Society of Antiquaries of London, and achieved fame for his definitive measured plans, elevations etc of Gothic buildings.
